The United Methodist Church of Belmont and Watertown is a family of Christian believers who—in worship, fellowship and service—embrace all who seek the Lord. We serve as disciples of Christ, bringing Jesus’ message of love, hope and reconciliation to a troubled world. We are committed to weekly worship, individual and community prayer, Christian education for all ages, responsible stewardship, loving friendships, hospitality to all, mutual support in times of need, mission outreach through direct service, and Christian witness.
A United Church
In the Spring of 2012 the congregations of the Belmont United Methodist Church in Belmont and St. John's United Methodist Church in Watertown voted to form a new congregation temporarily called the United Methodist Church of Belmont and Watertown. The new church operates from both sites with worship services conducted at 421 Common St, Belmont, and the outreach/recovery services of St John's continuing at 80 Mt Auburn St, Watertown. The main offices are located at the Belmont site.
Located near Cushing Square at the intersection of Trapelo Road and Common Street in Belmont, Massachusetts, for over 80 years, we have provided an active place for worship, fellowship, ministry and community.
We are a regional church with members from all of the towns in the surrounding area including Belmont, Watertown, Arlington, Cambridge, Waltham, Newton, Lexington and from as far away as Sudbury. Somerville and Woburn.
We invite all to our 10:30 am Sunday Worship service in the main sanctuary, with Children's Church for age 4 through grade 5.
